On The Road,,,,,,

Yeaahh Fokes!!

Our campaign is up and running after such a long recession caused by Google.They credited our account late but after all the odds,here we are once again!!Our main challenge now is organizing the keywords to strategically target our wanted traffic,,and so far there is dramatic change when we study our analytics,,,,through our ads strategy,we managed to place Sparksofasia on the right hand column of the search results(Sponsored Link) e.g once one googles a keyword such as cheap tour packages,then it comes up on the right side!!What are you waiting for??Go ahead and experiment!I know you want to see it,,Go ahead,do it!!

Nw we are experimenting with some different keywords!!We came up with a solid hypothesis based on a case by case goal,,,,

We came there last week and asked your IT technician to insert the Google tracking code in your website.Up to now,when we check the progress in our Google account,it seems like he didnt insert the code.Our progress have been haulted by this factor,at the same time Google Team in Carlifornia expects we have already began the advertising.

We would kindly request the IT Technician to insert the tracking code(attached) because without it,the Google Analytics wont work and hence we wont proceed.It also takes some days for the code to be verified.The sooner the better.

Preparation Of the Pre-Campaign Report

We had a meeting today to discuss and write the pre-campaign report.We could not complete the last part of the report because the tracking code that has been inserted on Sparks of Asia website is on the process of being verified,hopefully tomorrow it would be complete,both the verification and the report.

Tomorrow we target to work on summary information from Google Analytics and finish the proposed Adwords strategy.The final report shall be submitted tomorrow before 6pm.

Meeting With Sparks Of Asia Director

Today was one of those wonderful days in the history of Google Adwords.

We had a meeting with Sparks Of Asia Director;Mr Ranjit Maan.We interviwed him about the nature of their business and about all the necessary information.He later on took us through their IT department where we explained some certain factors to them through Google Analytics and Page Rank.

Mr Maan tipped us on some important services that we should focus on.Actually there are three of those services.He went on to explain that they had actually planned to advertise their services online since thier customers come from abroad,for instance Australia and Germany.Now,they want to make their services accessible to these customers.Having said that,this now sets as a litmus test for their plans.He invited us to attend a big exhibition around the 25th of May to observe how they exchange information.

Our Pre-campaign report is scheduled to be complete by next week Monday and it shall be ready to be submitted to Mr Paul thereby marking the beginning of our campaign.

We are proceeding very well amidst the hectic schedule of midterm exams and assignments in general.We held our meetings as follows:

We went on to brainstorm about the potential business that can be approached.We concluded to search for a business that provides several services and products so that we can broaden our campaign,if one product or service fails,then we could concentrate on the other one.

04/04/08 We held the first meeting with Sparks Of Asia General Manager and the Marketing Executive in Kuala Lumpur.The meeting went well and we were granted the permission to work with their business upon the approval from Sparks Of Asia Director and thorough consultative process via Mr Paul.

15/04/08 We held a meeting and decided to approach our business officials to explore their business indepth to prepare our pre-campaign report.We concluded to further impress them through some google tools.During this meeting,we printed out some paper work to discuss and explain each important factor to our business officials.The next meeting with Sparks Of Asia is scheduled for tomorrow on April 16th.

First Crush restaurant

Googlers 2nd Meeting

Hi guys!

This would be the second meeting summary for our team.

First thing first, there will be new member in our group, well, he call in kinda late but as for today meeting, he shown a good potential in our team. We love him!

Ok, step that aside, when our new member came in, there is alot of suggestion pouring in and we almost change our decision again from big to small one, but in the end, the vote still on the big one. And we continue on.

Letter to businesses, official letter, approval letter all has been completed. We will make a call this Monday to the company, and we will try to set an appointment and fax all required stuff to them. Hopefully they will have interest to work with us.

I have started to assign task to my team member, and as thing getting more and more harder, no one show a sign of giving up. We are all excited for what going to happen in the future! There is a lot of risk involved in our decision, yet we stay strong with it.

So, other group leader! There will be no accomplishment with no risk! Try your best! Good luck and have fun with this competition.

Your cert will have your name

Hi guys,
Just a quick update. I got an email from Google team saying that the certificate will have space for lecturers / professors to put the name of the students. This way you wont have a blank cert but with your name on it.

In case you are wondering why Google wont send it directly to you - they have around 21 thousand students registered with them for this challenge. Thats a really huge number and I think they need to hire a lot more pigeons to do this if they really want to send certs with all your names on it.

ROI with Google Adwords

For the competition, your business owners will normally be concerned about ROI. And therefore you should know how adwords can help you to determine ROI for the business. So, go ahead and watch this great example.

Googlers 1st Meeting

Googlers is our team names. No sweat bout that!

In the last Monday which is 25/2/08, we have conducted a meeting to confirm which company we should collaborate with for this GOMC.

Earlier we planning to look for Food-based marketing but after realised that there is some weaknesses in this industry, we have found another industries which is more suited for our challenge as it being focused not only to Malaysia, but it might attract International attention too. We will proceed our next plan by sending mail and contacting the company to work thing out before the end of February, as we are focusing in Hotel categories, we will try to make GOMC work out before Public Holiday in Malaysia in this March.

Hopefully the companies will love us :(

There will be another meeting this Friday, and we will focus more to keywords, and marketing strategy in the next meeting. Look forward for my next post! :P

Polle has posted an interesting sample of good example of adwords ad in the gomcha ning network.
Here is a total copycat of the entry.

Using goods ads is of major importance for a succesful campaign. It's great if your client can offer a special incentive that you can publish in your ad. Just a made-up example:

Huge selection at low prices
Order now & get a free T-shirt!

As he says, "this is something you should bring up in the intake talk with your client. Having an attractive incentive or special offer in your ads can dramatically improve your CTR. However, propose it as quickly as possible to your client to give them some time to think about it and prepare accordingly."

Daehee also added in the comment that "Including a price in the ad text is also proven to be a CTR booster!"
